Energy efficient student accommodations at Campus Roslagen

We are constantly looking at new ways to be energy efficient when building our accommodations.
Below you will find a selection of what we have done with the apartments at Albert Engströms Gata 10, 12 and 14.

The house is warmed up by district heating from the local thermal power plant, which uses wood chipping as fuel. At this power plant they produce both heating and electricity.

The warm water is heated by district heating. The taps in the shower and wash basin are fitted with water efficient taps and the toilets are low flushing.

 

The cooker has an energy efficient ceramic hob, and the fridge/freezers have the EU energy label A.

 

All lightbulbs are low energy. There is a water efficient tap fitted in the kitchen.

The windows that are fitted are 25% more energy efficient than required by Swedish building laws. The structure of the building is considerably better isolated than required by the building laws.
The heating needed for the houses are 25% lower than what the National Board of housing has as average.

The incoming air is heated by recycled air from a so called “Rotating FTX exchange”, and the air is purified through an ionizing system.

The Bathroom ventilation has a sensor which detects when the humidity decreases, and then uses less energy.

The smoke detector gets its power from the mains, so no batteries are needed.

When you lock the door from the outside the power is switched off in the apartment, except for fridge/freezer and one socket. This saves energy and is also a safety in case you forget to switch of the cooker.

Our washing machines have automatic dispensers for detergent and softener. The right amount of detergent gives less pollution in our water. The detergent is non bio and authorized by the Swedish Asthma Association, and also accredited by a Swedish eco label. An effort which is good for both the environment and your economy as this cost is included in your rent.

The heating from the tumble dryer and drying cabinet helps to heat the incoming air into the building. The washing machines use water from the hot water taps and only use 0,08Kwh/kg washing at 60C.

High speed broadband in your apartment which gives you access to TV, Internet and IP telephony. Fewer cables are needed.

We only buy green electricity (solar, wind, water and bio fuel) for your apartment.
